Voki - Speaking Avatars

Hello everyone. For this post I will be talking about a rather cool and interesting tool teachers can use in their classrooms. Voki is a very easy to create and use website that allows you to make an avatar which can speak everything you type, or you can add pre-recorded sound files, or you can record your own audio on the website itself to add into the Voki.In Voki, you can choose from a variety of pre-rendered characters, choose a background and simply add something that can make your Voki talk. The majority of features, characters, backgrounds and so on are locked behind a paywall, but you are able to create Voki's with limited variety of assets to choose from.
I created an alien that felt fitting for the space theme of my blog, which has a mission to learn English in order to visit Earth. Teachers can create rather fun and interesting, short attention grabbing Voki's such as what I created to spice up things in their classrooms.

Hello everyone. Today I used a website called Pixton. This website allows you to create lovely comics featuring you as a teacher and your students. When you first login to the website, you are asked to create your avatar to appear in the classrooms and comics. As you can see in the picture above, I created my avatar as similar as I could. I personally find everything about this website adorable and cute. Every character, facial expressions, the style and all are very nicely done. Everything is very high quality and cartoonish to catch the eye of young learners, but even as an adult I absolutely love it. As a teacher, I find this website to be an amazing instrument to truly make students feel involved in school, classroom and create a friendly, almost family type atmosphere in the classroom. Instead of looking at boring, random names and pictures found on google strapped on the books, the students can see themselves in the scenarios.

Hello everyone. Today I tried to use Canva but failed horribly, but failure is the first step to success! Despite me not performing good enough I can personally see the potential this tool has for teachers and students. As far as I can see it you are able to create presentation type stuff to show. As a teacher, you can use this in a variety of ways in the class, but I personally have an idea that should be especially great for young learners. You can create a colorful page full of the achievements of your students, or a group photo of them to boost their morale and their will to learn.
