Greetings everyone. If you take a look at the pictures above, you will notice my LEGO helicopter seen through a mobile device camera, has a 3D and animated helicopter flying from it in augmented reality. HP Reveal scans the pictures you take and adds a corresponding animation of augmented reality onto it. I am able to freely move my phone around the helicopter and see the flying animated helicopter in different perspectives. The important part we will discuss about this is the educational aspects of this application. Children and students are obviously very affliated with such things and are heavily interested in them. Moreover, since phones are really affordable these days nearly every student today owns a smartphone to utilize these applications. For young students for example, or even for older students, teachers can practice a sort of "remembering the meaning" of a word activies. If you examine the picture, you'll notice red circles around some tiny circles of pluses and a music note. These are the specialty of Thinglink. If you hover your mouse over these small icons, you will encounter some pop-ups on the picture containing various stuff, ranging from texts to videos to links to gifs and pictures. In my Thinglink, I used a picture of a video game character called Nami, and put up three of those. One of them gives a very brief abstract of her biography, another bubble gives information about her ingame abilities. The music note opens a youtube link to the music of our Nami. Voki - Speaking Avatars

http://tinyurl.com/yy9askmn Hello everyone. For this post I will be talking about a rather cool and interesting tool teachers can use in their classrooms. Voki is a very easy to create and use website that allows you to make an avatar which can speak everything you type, or you can add pre-recorded sound files, or you can record your own audio on the website itself to add into the Voki.In Voki, you can choose from a variety of pre-rendered characters, choose a background and simply add something that can make your Voki talk. The majority of features, characters, backgrounds and so on are locked behind a paywall, but you are able to create Voki's with limited variety of assets to choose from. I created an alien that felt fitting for the space theme of my blog, which has a mission to learn English in order to visit Earth. Teachers can create rather fun and interesting, short attention grabbing Voki's such as what I created to spice up things in their classrooms.
