https://www.thinglink.com/scene/1189481867481448450 Hello everyone. Today I created a small Thinglink which you can access from the link above this text. If you examine the picture, you'll notice red circles around some tiny circles of pluses and a music note. These are the specialty of Thinglink. If you hover your mouse over these small icons, you will encounter some pop-ups on the picture containing various stuff, ranging from texts to videos to links to gifs and pictures. In my Thinglink, I used a picture of a video game character called Nami, and put up three of those. One of them gives a very brief abstract of her biography, another bubble gives information about her ingame abilities. The music note opens a youtube link to the music of our Nami. Since our new generation of learners are technologically native, research and feedbacks has been showing about how children love interactive items. Thinglink created a perfect tool to utilize this, as you can make various ty...
Hello everyone, I made a nice little activity in Quizlet which can be accessed from this link: https://quizlet.com/_6qnivt I heard about Quizlet for the first time recently and I'm rather impressed with it. I absolutely love the UI(User Interface), how smooth the general appearence and the animations of everything. The entire website is sleek and smooth, with no problems. The Quizlet I made is a small one that consists of just 5 cards, I used English idioms as a topic and put together 5 different idioms that people commonly use. Students can try to guess their meaning and simply click on the card to reveal the correct answer. What I created was really simple, but its to just show what it can do. Quizlet has immense potential for teachers who can take it. You can create all sorts of question type stuff to invoke the thought process of students and have them work their way around the words to guess their meaning.
What you see above is a QR code. You all already know of this I'm sure, as they have become quite popular in the recent decade or so. You will find them on all sorts of places such as packages, advertisements, notices, essentially everywhere you can clearly see and where they want it to be seen. Their purposes can be for all sorts of stuff as always. When you see one on a package, it's usually for a contest where you can win stuff. If its on a notice, its probably going to lead you into an information website about whatever it is trying to grab attention for, or it could lead you into a volunteering form for an event. The QR code in the picture is one I made for this post. It leads to my game profile because I wanted to post this as an example, but regardless of what I made we can talk about the appliances of QR code into education. One simple and probably already commonly known idea is to use QR codes to lead students into links and websites the teacher wants them to vi...
